Biodiversity planning helps communities and local authorities integrate nature conservation into development plans in a way that benefits both people and the environment. With the new EU Nature Restoration Law aiming for no net habitat loss by 2030, there is a growing focus on restoring and protecting habitats while ensuring sustainable growth.
We work closely with communities and public bodies to create tailored biodiversity action plans. These plans aim to enhance local ecosystems, address conservation challenges, and meet social and economic needs. They include:
- Habitat Mapping: Identifying and documenting important habitats in the area.
- Condition Assessments: Evaluating the current health of these habitats.
- Restoration Planning: Designing projects to bring damaged areas back to life. Examples include the Dogs Bay Restoration Plan, the Morning Sand Dunes Restoration Plan, and enhancing recreation access at Killconny Bog in harmony with its conservation designation.
- Priority Actions: Developing strategies for species conservation, habitat restoration, and community engagement.
